Few would argue to say that gay marriage isn't one of the great moral debates of our time. It's also been a big factor in the upcoming presidential election. With President Obama publicly saying he supports gay marriage, he won big points with many left-wing voters. Yet still, many people are fighting tooth and nail against giving homosexual couples. A majority are church groups and people who are using religious reasons to attempt to prosecute gay couples, saying that homosexuality is immoral, against the bible, and will corrupt our children. However, As the 14th amendment states in the equal protection clause, that no person or class of persons shall be denied the same protection of the laws that is enjoyed by other persons or other classes. This attack on the ever-increasing gay population is blatantly against the Constitution, and any laws against homosexual marriage should never be upheld in court.
